P.S. We're SOOOO close to unlocking another stretch goal. Let's do this!

The Homestretch... Plus Join Us for an END OF CAMPAIGN Livestream TOMORROW NIGHT!
7 months ago – Thu, Mar 07, 2024 at 11:16:57 AM

Hey, SINK backers, we're in the homestretch now...

And as a special treat for you all, we're setting up a cross-continental livestream with the Sink creators John Lees, who will be popping on late-night in Glasgow, and joining artist Alex Cormack and publisher Tyler James to stream FRIDAY March 8, from 8-9 PM EDT.

The boys will be hanging out, talking about the new book and where SINK is headed.

Hope you'll join us!

-The SINK Crew!

P.S. Here's another cool Kickstarter we recommend you check out.  Dragon Grit #1 by Caleb Palmquist is a cool genre mash-up... wildwest gunslingers who ride dragons instead of horses.

The story is about a tough-as-nails ex-outlaw who takes a risky escort job while being pursued by an old rival, and inspired by classics like Tombstone and True Grit with a fantasy twist D&D fans will enjoy.

You can check it out on Kickstarter here.

And here's a conversation Tyler James (ComixTribe Publisher) had with Caleb this morning about this new project, the ups and downs of Kickstarter, and how to embrace failure as a part of your journey.

New 3D Lenticular Cover Unleashed!
8 months ago – Mon, Mar 04, 2024 at 06:26:05 AM

SINK BACKERS, check this one out!

To help the SINK: MONSTERS campaign crush in our final week, we're offering a new product we've never made available before…

SINK: MONSTERS #12-13L (Limited Lenticular 3D Cover!)

Over the past month, we've been working with our vendors to design this special moving image variant cover using 3D lenticular printing, where our SINK characters will transform into their vampire versions with a tilt of the cover!

We've been wanting to do a lenticular cover for a while now, and are thrilled to make it available to our backers during this campaign…

And we're sweetening the deal for EARLY ACTION TAKERS!

SAVE $10.00 WHEN YOU BACK OR ADD TO YOUR PLEDGE IN THE NEXT 48 HOURS!

If you're already a physical backer, you can add one of these to your pledge in the ADD-ONS section and save ten bucks before Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at midnight, you can take $10.00 off the price!

We're only doing 100 units of this lenticular cover and they may go quickly… but we wanted to reward our VIPs and existing backers with a BIG EARLY ACTION TAKER Discount!

We're so excited to be able to offer this cool new option for our fans… we're excited to get this one in our hands and hope some of you are too!

- Your Pals @ ComixTribe

P.S. So, wild foxes are an unofficial mascot Scotland, as they are quite common to see in the wild, inspiring the Mr. Dig character. But had John Lees been born in Australia, there's a chance Mr. Dig might have been a Kangaroo themed vigilante...

But to get your badass Kangaroo vigilante fix, not to worry, our pal Darren Zen Close is back with another installment of his KILLEROO Series... this time teaming up with another popular series The 4Horsemen!

This is an 80-page full colour comic (perfect bound), featuring a crossover between the long-running Killeroo series by Darren Close, and the similarly long-running 4Horsefemmes / Plan B / 4Horsemen series by Stuart Black.

There's a couple weeks to go on this one, and plenty of reward options to get caught up on all thinks Killeroo!

⚡THE STANDARD ADD-ON FLASH SALE FOR SINK BACKERS! ⚡Plus: Meet John Lees at Emerald City!
8 months ago – Tue, Feb 27, 2024 at 06:40:28 AM

Anyone headed to Emerald City Comic Con this week?

If you'll be there, be sure to stop by Artist Alley Booth C24 to meet up with your pal John Lees, who is making the international trip all the way from Glasgow to hang out in Seattle with comic fans this weekend!

John will be sharing a table with his artist partner Adam Cahoon, who is doing amazing work on their Vault Comics series THE NASTY. As John is busy traveling, I'm going to take a minute to crow about the incredible body of work that John has amassed over the past decade...

John hasn't put out a bad comic yet, always works with visionary artists, and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with him over the years. If all you've read from John is SINK, I strongly encourage you to dive into his archive of comics.

Now, John will be at Emerald City selling some of his more recent titles, but I'm always excited to provide a reason to highlight John's very first published comic series... THE STANDARD, which was how I first got to know John, and discovered his brilliance as a writer.

John's THE STANDARD was one of the series that helped launch ComixTribe!
John's THE STANDARD was one of the series that helped launch ComixTribe!

THE STANDARD was the debut series written by Lees and earned John the Scottish Independent Comic Book Award for Best Writer.

THE STANDARD is the story of two men from different eras who share the same heroic legacy. In the past, The Standard was the world’s greatest superhero. Today, he is a celebrity with his own reality TV show. But when a catastrophic event brings the two generations into collision, The Standard is forced to ask if superheroes still have a place in today’s cynical world.

This is a book I'm always pushing on comic book fans... especially those who enjoy the seminal superhero books such as WATCHMEN, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, & ALL-STAR SUPERMAN.  The fact that this book is as good as it is as the first comic that John ever produced is almost unfair!

The Standard was released in comic shops and most of the single issues have been sold out for years... but we still have stock of THE STANDARD in the a deluxe ULTIMATE COLLECTION format.

And since John wasn't able to lug copies of THE STANDARD to Emerald City, we're going to use this opportunity to hopefully put this classic into the hands of some more comic fans... and offer it up at a STEAL OF A DEAL for SINK Backers!

For the next 48 Hours, THE STANDARD ULTIMATE COLLECTION can be added to any pledge for just +$20! That's a $15 savings off the retail price for this 220 page oversided collection that collects the entire THE STANDARD tale!

All of the John Lees trademarks you love from SINK can be found in this surprising superhero tale... and the art from Jonathan Rector and Will Robson is top notch.

If you don't already have this book, do yourself a favor and add it to your collection today!

Best,
Tyler James

P.S. Speaking of great superhero hardcovers, we have to send some love over to our pal Karl Kesel, who is back with another awesome volume of IMPOSSIBLE JONES!

Karl is an industry legend, who has worked on some of the biggest properties in comics...

...but has really found a home here on Kickstarter with his creator owned titles like Impossible Jones.

I have the first hardcover, and this second one somehow looks even more amazing!
